Anna Czepizak, 93, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on January 26, 2018. She was born in Gorayec, Poland on May 10, 1924. World War II broke out when she was a teenager and Anna was taken and forced to work in German factory for much of the war. She escaped when the factory was bombed. After the war, she finished her basic education in Germany, met Frank Czepizak whom she married in 1947. They first moved to France where she worked as a nanny a few years prior to finally immigrating to the United States...

Anna Czepizak, 93, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on January 26, 2018. She was born in Gorayec, Poland on May 10, 1924. World War II broke out when she was a teenager and Anna was taken and forced to work in German factory for much of the war. She escaped when the factory was bombed. After the war, she finished her basic education in Germany, met Frank Czepizak whom she married in 1947. They first moved to France where she worked as a nanny a few years prior to finally immigrating to the United States in 1954. She worked as an office cleaner for several years in Brooklyn NY and then moved to Unadilla, NY, where she worked along side Frank on their farm for many years.
Anna was a dedicated wife and mother. She loved gardening, crafts and arts, baking and cooking for everyone. After retiring to Beverly Hills Florida in 1984 she continued her hobbies & she and Frank travelled extensively. She was a choir member at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a member of the Polish club. She and Frank made a final move to Jacksonville in 2010 to be closer to their daughter. Anna continued knitting & crocheting for those in need for several more years. Her final three years were spent at The Atria Assisted Living.
Anna is predeceased by her son Edmund, her husband Frank and one brother. She is survived by her daughters, Heddy Fowler (Robert) in Rhinebeck, NY and Christine Czepizak in Jacksonville, FL; two grandsons, Michael Fowler (Rachel) in Elizaville, NY and Matthew Fowler (Erika) in Kingston, NY; and three great granddaughters, Brodie, Ruby and Shelby.
A visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday February 1, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32250. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00pm at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 435 1st Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Arrangements are under the care of HARDAGE-GIDDENS BEACHES CHAPEL, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
